چکیده
The authors use symmetry arguments to show a higher-order Van Hove singularity in mirror-symmetric twisted trilayer graphene, which is tuned by varying the twist angle and perpendicular electric field gating.

متن کاملCorrigendum: Selectively enhanced photocurrent generation in twisted bilayer graphene with van Hove singularity
Graphene with ultra-high carrier mobility and ultra-short photoresponse time has shown remarkable potential in ultrafast photodetection. However, the broad and weak optical absorption (∼ 2.3%) of monolayer graphene hinders its practical application in photodetectors with high responsivity and selectivity. Here we demonstrate that twisted bilayer graphene, a stack of two graphene monolayers with...
متن کاملExtended van Hove singularity and superconducting instability in doped graphene.
We have investigated the effects of doping on a single layer of graphene using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. We show that many-body interactions severely warp the Fermi surface, leading to an extended van Hove singularity (EVHS) at the graphene M point. The ground state properties of graphene with such an EVHS are calculated, analyzing the competition between a magnetic instability...
متن کاملObservation of Van Hove singularities in twisted graphene layers
Electronic instabilities at the crossing of the Fermi energy with a Van Hove singularity1 in the density of states often lead to new phases of matter such as superconductivity2,3, magnetism4 or density waves5. However, in most materials this condition is difficult to control. In the case of single-layer graphene, the singularity is too far from the Fermi energy6 and hence difficult to reach wit...
متن کاملVan Hove Singularity and Superconductivity in Disordered Hubbard Model
We apply the Coherent Potential Approximation (CPA) to a simple extended Hubbard model with a nearest and next nearest neighbour hopping for disordered superconductors with s–, d– and p–wave pairing. We show how the Van Hove singularities in the electron density of states enhance the transition temperature Tc for exotic superconductors in a clean and weakly disordered system. The Anderson theor...
